Calgary Yacht Club members have enjoyed boating on Chestermere Lake since the club was established in 1933. Nestled on two acres of waterfront property on the east shore of Chestermere Lake, the Calgary Yacht Club's facilities support a broad range of boating, educational and social activities throughout the year. Just 10 minutes from Calgary's eastern limits, our facility is within easy reach of most residents of the region. Annual memberships provide unlimited access to the club, providing affordable access to the water.
The club is a not for profit organization, run by members who volunteer their time and efforts toward developing, promoting and enjoying the sport of sailing. While some of our members are highly accomplished sailors, we continue to welcome members of all abilities, ages and interests.
You don't need to own a sail boat to enjoy the club and its facilities. Paddlers are always welcome! The club's buildings and grounds provide a relaxed family atmosphere. The club maintains a small fleet of sailboats which, for a nominal fee, members can rent or lease for their own enjoyment.
The club offers a variety of sailing and social activites including:
*Thursday night racing *youth sailing day camps
* youth racing *adult sailing lessons
* youth racing *disabled sailing
* masters training programs *weekend race regattas
* theme dinners, socials and special events
There truly is something for everyone at the Calgary Yacht Club!
CYC has partnered with Chestermere United Football Club!
Chestermere United FC is a volunteer run organization promoting soccer for all ages in the Chestermere, Strathmore, Langdon, Indus and Calgary area. We are a very proactive club and actively pursue the best practices for all aspects of the game, including player skills, tactics, nutrition and injury prevention techniques.
The Calgary Yacht Club has partnered with the CUFC with the intention OF jointly promoting sporting activity to all of our members and residents of Chestermere and the surrounding areas.
We believe that our new working relationship will enable both organizations to grow and develop their programs and jointly facilitate the promotion of Club activities.
