First day will be at Glenmore Sailing Club, and if conditions permit, the second day will be at Calgary Yacht Club

COST:  $20

The Sail Canada Assistant Mark Layer and Mark Layer Courses are intended to provide volunteers the opportunity to gain knowledge of the procedures and duties of a mark layer.   After obtaining the necessary experience, attendees of the first day may apply for Sail Canada Assistant Mark Layer certification and attendees of both days may apply for Sail Canada Mark Layer certification.   Here is a link describing the criteria:

This course will be of interest to sailors as well as race management personnel as it includes practical demonstration of the use of equipment such as hand bearing compasses, GPS’s, laser range finders, nautical chart overlays on Google Earth, etc.   If the weather permits, the attendees will be able to practice outside with these race management tools.
