ABOUT

Calgary Yacht Club members have enjoyed boating on Chestermere Lake since the Club was established in 1933.  Nestled on two acres of waterfront property on the east shore of Chestermere Lake, the Calgary Yacht Club's facilities support a broad range of sailing, educational and social activities throughout the year. Just 10 minutes from Calgary's eastern limits, our facility is within easy reach of most residents of the region. Annual memberships include unlimited access to the Club, providing affordable access to the water engaged in and supporting the sport of sailing.

The Club is a not-for-profit organization, run by a small group of dedicated staff and members who volunteer their time and efforts toward developing, promoting and enjoying the sport of sailing.  While some of our members are highly accomplished sailors, we welcome members of all abilities, ages and interests. We enjoy welcoming new faces to the sailing community!

You don't need to own a sail boat to enjoy the Club and its facilities.  The Club maintains a small fleet of sailboats, paddle boards and kayaks which, for a nominal fee, members can rent for their own enjoyment.  The Club's buildings and grounds provide a relaxed family atmosphere and provides for a great sense of community.

The Club offers a variety of activities including:

  • Thursday night racing and dinner social
  • Youth sailing day camps and youth racing
  • Adult learn to sail lessons
  • Disabled sailing
  • Masters training programs
  • Weekend race regattas
  • Paddle boards and kayaks
  • Themed dinners, socials, and special events

There truly is something for everyone at the Calgary Yacht Club!
