NOTICE OF RACE (NOR)

  • 1      RULES
    • The event is governed by the rules as defined in The Racing Rules of Sailing.
  • 2      SAILING INSTRUCTIONS (SI’s)
    • The SI’s will be available after 1700hrs on 31st of May at the CYC.
  • 3      COMMUNICATION
    • The official notice board is located on the exterior west side of the change room building.
  • 4      ELIGIBILITY AND ENTRY
    • 4.1   The event is open to all classes.
    • 4.2   To be considered an entry in the event, a boat shall have completed all registration requirements and paid all fees.
    • 4.3   Boats assigned to the X-Class will be level rated.  Three or more boats of the same class and boats assigned to the X-Class registered by the 3rd of June at 0855 hrs will be scored as separate fleets. 
  • 5      FEES
    • 5.1   Register online at calgaryyachtclub.wildapricot.org/event-4641304.  Regatta includes:  the regatta; wine & cheese reception on Friday; continental breakfast on Saturday & Sunday; and late lunch after sailing on Sunday.  Saturday evening meal and social is at an additional cost.
    • 5.2   Early Registration online between April 15 and May 15 is:

      • Single handed Regatta           $90
      • Double handed Regatta         $130
      • Triple handed Regatta            $170
    • 5.3    Regular Registration online between May 16 and May 31 is:

      • Single handed Regatta           $100

      • Triple handed Regatta            $190
    • 5.4   Late Registration is available on site at Regular Registration rate on Friday evening and Saturday morning, though may not include all the same benefits as an advanced Online registration.
    • 5.5   Saturday Evening Meals:

      • Saturday Dinner (Age 12 and under)         $20.00

    • 6.2   Ten races are scheduled.
  • 7      VENUE
    • Racing will take place on the waters of Chestermere Lake, Alberta.
  • 8      COURSES
    • The courses to be sailed will be either Windward/Leeward or Triangle/Sausage and a Hollywood Finish.
  • 9      SCORING
    • 9.1  One race is required to be completed to constitute a series.
    • 9.2  
      • (a) When fewer than 5 races have been completed, a boat’s series score will be the total of her race scores.
      • (b) When from 5 to 10 races have been completed, a boat’s series score will be the total of her race scores excluding her worst score.
  • 10   RISK STATEMENT
    • Competitors participate in the regatta entirely at their own risk. See RRS 3, DECISION TO RACE.  The OA will not accept any liability for material damage or personal injury or death sustained in conjunction with or prior to, during, or after the regatta.
  • 11   INSURANCE
    • Each participating boat shall be insured with valid third-party liability insurance with a minimum cover of $1,000,000 per incident or the equivalent for the duration of the regatta.
